Introduction
This course was created to explore novels and drama written after World War II. Topics of study include satire, existentialism, and dystopian literature. The primary Common Core Standards that will be addressed include understanding central ideas and themes, explaining relationships between characters, analyzing the structure of texts, and evaluating the merit of texts. The objectives listed will focus on one particular contemporary novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, in which students will create connections with essential human rights and the infringements of those rights presented in the novel. This site will primarily focus on the assessment portion of instruction. Note the tabs for each objective and the corresponding tools and assessment pieces for each objective for this course.
